Delete your Varenchat account
This page explains how Varenchat users can request deletion of their account and related data.
You can request deletion in the Varenchat app when you are signed in, or contact support@varen.chat if you cannot access your account.

How to request deletion
In the Varenchat app, sign in to the account you want deleted, then go to Profile > Settings > Account > Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps.
If you cannot access the app, email support@varen.chat with the subject Account Deletion Request. Include your registered email address or user ID so we can verify the account before deletion.
For your privacy and security, we may ask for additional information to confirm that you control the account before completing the request.
Data we delete
When a verified account deletion request is completed, we delete account profile data, personal profile details, chat history, character and scene preferences, user-generated app content, saved app settings, and active login session data associated with the Varenchat account.
Account deletion initiates cancellation of subscriptions billed directly through Stripe. Apple App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled by you in the store where you purchased them; deleting your account does not cancel store billing.
Data we may retain
We may retain transaction records, subscription and billing records, payment-provider identifiers, customer support records, safety records, fraud-prevention records, security logs, dispute records, and records we are required to keep for legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory reasons.
Retained records are limited to what is necessary for those purposes and are not used to provide an active Varenchat account after deletion is completed.
Retention periods
After identity verification and a successful account deletion, ordinary account and conversation data are deleted from our primary database immediately, except restricted financial records and records subject to a legal hold.
Associated R2 object storage data and Redis caches are deleted within 24 hours. Ordinary backup copies roll off within 35 days, except where a legal hold or legal obligation requires longer retention.
Encrypted financial and app store payment evidence is retained for 7 calendar years based on the relevant transaction or record date, then automatically deleted unless a legal hold or legal obligation requires longer retention. Retained records are restricted to billing, security, dispute resolution, and legal obligations and are not used to provide an active account.
Additional identity verification, security review, or a legal hold may delay completion of a request. We restrict retained records to the relevant review or legal purpose.
